DEJAHi! My name is Deja! I am one of the sweetest boxer girls you will meet and will win you over with my beautiful amber eyes! I love to be around my family, the resident boxer, and kids! I am not a fan of the crate and will whimper in it. Once my bed was removed from the crate, I slept all night without making a sound!I am house trained and have learned how to use the doggy door, how to sit, and to properly wait for treats. I am not food aggressive and am respectful of the resident boxer while he is eating. When I first came to my foster home, I had a lot of anxiety but after time of settling in, that got better! I do not like being left alone so I would do best in a home with another dog for company. I follow the male resident boxer everywhere he goes and love to play with him. I also follow the humans everywhere to make sure I do not miss any fun! I do have a prey drive so it would be best if I lived in a cat-free home. I am able to be trusted to free roam the house when the humans are away, and I am not destructive. I do not dig outside and currently am not interested in playing with toys. LOCKELocke came to ABR in March with a badly broken front left leg. He had surgery to repair it and was a trooper through 12 weeks of crate confinement, on-leash bathroom breaks and very .supervised snuggle and play times. He still limps a little sometimes, and that is improving every day. Locke is such a happy, good-natured boy that he wasn't fazed by any of that. His nub wags nearly constantly and he can't seem to control his wiggle at all. He gets along just fine with the two small dogs and one boxer in his foster home, and he wants to play with all the dogs when he goes to Adoption Day. He seems to believe that cats are vermin, though, and it's his job to eradicate them. Locke is small for a male at about 50 pounds, is house trained and crate trained. He prefers that his crate be covered so he can rest without being distracted. He does pretty well on leash except that there are so many things to smell, and he is determined to sniff every spot thoroughly! Although he has some gray on his nose, he has plenty of energy for wiggles, occasional zoomies and play time. He sometimes plays with toys, sometimes likes to watch tv, and always likes to have his head rubbed and hear that he's a good boy.
