Lai Lai
“We lost our Lai Lai shortly after we adopted her. I was lucky enough to have her pick me when we met at an ABR adoption event in June. She was the most tender-hearted girl. I had her certified as an emotional support dog and I was able to take her to work with me. We recently found out she had a tumor that was cancerous in her bladder and surgery was not an option. I had to make the most heart-wrenching decision with the advice of my vet to let her go. She passed in my arms as I looked into her sweet face telling her I loved her and that she was loved. Our hearts are broken without her. Run free baby girl.
The Oshels”
All of the rescues that come through our doors leave lasting paw prints on our hearts, but Lai Lai had a very special place in the hearts of her foster family, Austin Boxer Rescue, and the internet. She quickly garnered national attention as a video of her with her cat pal went viral on sites like The Dodo and Shelterme.com. She was also featured as a model in the Heartthrobs and Hounds calendar. ABR is so saddened by the loss of this precious girl. We know that she led a full life with lots of love with her foster and adoptive family as she made her transition from forgotten to family. Our hearts are broken, too. Run free sweet, sweet girl. We’ll see you across the bridge.
