Success Story - Tina Turner (ABR Peony)Austin Boxer Rescue: We adopted Tina Turner (formerly Peony) in early September after losing our beloved Ava, also a rescue boxer, from a brain tumor at age 11. Ava was my heart dog and my first boxer. She was a companion to our other boxer, Prince, a Lone Star Boxer alum. When Ava died, Prince cried nightly and my daughter asked if she could go to heaven to be with her. I wasn't sure if I was ready, but I knew I had to find another boxer for Prince and my kids. Then we saw Tina, and she looked like Ava). She has turned our sadness into joy and given Prince a reason to move his arthritic bones for short walks again. She is loud, rambunctious, sweet and fun.
