Memorial - Brooklyn (ABR Lativa)We adopted Brooklyn in 2012 when we moved into our new home in Austin. Our kids were 7 and 10 at the time and she immediately melted our hearts. She was so gentle-mannered that she received training to become an animal-assisted therapy dog and attended school with me for years. During this time, she continued to touch the hearts of so many children and families. She attended social skills groups, walked teary kindergarten students to class each day and sat patiently and listened as children practiced their reading skills.She took road trips with us each summer to North Carolina when the weather was hot in Austin. She loved hiking and camping and she loved her people, but not more than we loved her.When we adopted our second pup from ABR she bonded with him and they slept side by side until her last days. She lived to be 15-16 years old and I know this is a long time for a dog, but it just did not feel long enough. Thank you ABR, for introducing us to the most amazing dog in the world.
