BOXER SPOTLIGHT: HERCULES IIHercules II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Hercules II! I am a handsome 7 year old brindle boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner being unable to financially care for me and moving out of the country and unable to take me with her. I am described as active, friendly, playful, affectionate, quiet, and obedient! I do not live with another dog but am said to get really excited around other dogs and want to play with them! There are no kids in the home but my owner's nephews visit often and I love them! I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I am house trained, eat dry kibble that is gentle on my stomach, and sleep in the living room on the floor. If the humans must be away, I will walk in circles and then grab my toys and chew on them. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates! I am fearful of loud sounds but love playing tug of war or tag, cuddling, and food! Due to the limited amount of space we have to accept dogs into our care, owner surrenders generally stay with their owners and are available for adoption on our website to our adopters.If there is an emergency and the owner is not able to keep the boxer until they are placed in a new home, depending on the circumstances, we are sometimes able to help and take the dog into care immediately. Our owner surrender coordinator works with the owner as soon as the owner surrender form is filled out in all situations to get the information needed and we figure out what direction to go and what we are able to to to try and help. We get as much information as possible about the dog being rehomed and if they are a fit for an adopter, we have a volunteer facilitate a meeting with the adopter. If it is a fit, they can adopt. DFW Boxer Rescue takes care of all vetting needed and it is just like an adoption of a dog that is in care, if the adopter is not able to keep the boxer, they come back to the rescue.We have had 58 Owner surrenders adopted in the last 12 months and usually have between 20 and 30 owner surrenders available for adoption on our website at any one time.
