It is with the heaviest heart I must tell you of the huge loss of my best buddy, my dog Coda. He rescued me thru The Austin Boxer Rescue about 9 years ago and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful loving dog in my life. From the first day, I met him I just knew he was the one. He was heartworm positive and suffered separation anxiety, but I just knew and he never left my side since. I took Coda to work with me every day at Bobalu Cigar Co. were he was the star of the show. Many people would stop by just to see him. About a year later I adopted my sweet girl Nellie. They were like two peas in a pod, inseparable. Well, 2016 has been tough, I first lost Nellie this spring to mast cell cancer, then my boy Coda today. Although Coda had leg and hip problems and had become totally deaf, he was still happy and all dog. Then about 4 months ago I saw Lucy (her name now) and energetic 1.5-year-old female boxer and again I got adopted. With all the heartache that comes from losing your best friend is seems like nothing compared to the joy they have brought to my life. I want to take the time to thank the wonderful people at the Austin Boxer Rescue (Jennifer) for the relentless work they do to help these dogs get a second chance in life. I would also like to thank the finest Vet clinic in the world, South Congress Veterinary Clinic Dr. Hardesty and especially Betsy who made the end of life process so loving and truly cares about each animal as if they were hers. They are truly superstars! So I will take my girl Lucy home tonight and I will love her with all my heart and remember all the joy Coda and Nellie bought me
