Yesterday marked 3 years with Sadie!! She is such a big part of our family! She thinks she is a person . She’s the perfect blend of gentle and protective. If you were invited, she will welcome you and love you. (Once she sniffs you down and checks you out). If you were not invited, she will let you know! She loves to go with us wherever she can. She expects to be invited, and if she’s not, I get the sad eyes. She made herself right at home from the beginning and became the instant pack leader. Every fur baby in the house looks to her for direction. She’s funny and sweet, yet bossy and commanding. Huge personality! I love all of my fur babies, but Sadie (formerly “Tara”) and I have a special bond. I’m so happy that Austin Boxer Rescue chose me to be her forever-mom!
Two days ago we celebrated two years with Blake! (Formerly “Patton”). We adopted him from Austin Boxer Rescue as a puppy. As it turns out, he may not be 100% Boxer, but he has stolen 100% of our hearts! It wasn’t always an easy road with him, but, we are so happy to be his forever family. As a young puppy, Blake presented lots of challenges. After having him for a few months, he suddenly broke out with a bad case of “puppy mange”, a hereditary condition that couldn’t have been known when he was adopted. This presented a time-consuming and financial burden on our family. He was very energetic and difficult to train. He didn’t want to listen, he just wanted to play. Sadie took him on as her project and did a great job of showing him the ropes. Most of the credit, however, goes to my now 14-year-old son. He has spent a lot of time training Blake and has been incredibly patient with him! So, after two years, Blake has become an excellent dog and a special member of the family! He is well-behaved, super sweet and very athletic! He loves to play and cuddle. Thank you Austin Boxer Rescue for making us Blake’s forever family!!
