Penny1 Penny8 Penny2Good Morning ABR friends –

It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart (and many tears) that I am writing to let you know of Penny’s (formerly Paneer) passing. We made the painful decision to let her go Monday evening. In addition to being riddled with cancer, her DM was progressing to her front end. She was loving and happy until the day she passed, but over the last few weeks , both diseases began to take a heavy toll on her and before it began to cause her great pain, after consulting with our vet, we knew we had to make the decision.

Our family can’t thank you enough for allowing us to adopt her 2 1/2 years ago. She was so amazing – she was our first Boxer and she turned cat people into dog people and many of our friends and family into Boxer people – so much so a family member got their own boxer once Penny cast her sweet spell on them!

She loved our kids – she was loving and sweet with our 10 year old and patient with lot’s of kisses to our 6 year old who has sensory issues. That being said, she loved kids period. Not one could walk into our home with out petting her and saying hi – and if they didn’t she would follow them around the house and nudge them with her head gently until they gave her a pat. She was so funny. Penny also had a special routine with my husband where she would give him her sad face and he would get down on the floor and she’d run over and get in his lap and give her a big hug.

However at the end of the day, she was my girl, my shadow – especially after nursing her through her cancer surgery last year. She followed me all over the house, kept my feet warm and greeted me always. At the end , I was carrying her in and out to go to the bathroom and the trust she had in me to pick her up while she was becoming so fragile, was amazing. She loved me as much as I did her.

We miss her and her sweet spirit so much.(and our little dog Muddy is very sad too) She was loved greatly and it feels like something is missing now. After she came to you in such a terrible state, we want you to know, she left this world happy and loved. Thank you so much for entrusting us with her.
