It is with a heavy and broken heart that my beloved Boxer Nellie has crossed the rainbow bridge to doggie heaven. She was a rescue from the Austin Boxer Rescue and was the love of my life, my little girl. She spent the last 8 years be my side as well as her fur brother Coda. She was always the mama dog and the protector. About 3 or 4 months ago she was diagnosed with some mast cell cancer tumors and we tried everything but the cancer kept growing. She kept fighting and was happy til the end. As many of you know, she came to work at Bobalu Cigar factory every day and was loved by all the employees and customers and would bring smiles to all. Just recently I named a cigar after her which will keep her in our hearts for years to come. I would like the thank the wonderful people at the Austin Boxer Rescue, especially Jennifer Pope for being such a hero to all the boxers in need. They are the best… period. I would also like to thank the Best Veterinarian clinic South Congress Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Hargesty and especially Betsy handled Nellie’s end of life with such loving and compassionate care. There is not a more wonderful and caring clinic anywhere. Most of all my sweet, sweet baby girl who along with her fur brother Coda rescued me when I thought I had rescued them. Dogs are family and I was truly blessed Nellie chose me to love. She will be missed but never forgotten. I LOVE YOU MY SWEET NELLIE.
