Luke is a 7 year old white male Boxer who currently lives with a chihuahua and a snotty female Boxer and gets along with both. He has elementary aged kids in his house and he does great with them too. The cats and rabbits are a different story as small furry things get his full attention. Luke was pretty emaciated when he got to his foster home and even though he’s not a voracious eater, he is gradually gaining weight to his 70-75 pound ideal weight. He has a nicely cropped tail and cropped ears.
Luke is very well mannered; he does not jump up on people, does not get on the couch or the bed even when invited. He knows basic commands and is easily redirected. A stern NO gets a guilty face and big sorry eyes until he is forgiven. He is a muscular boy so anyone walking him needs to be aware of his eagerness to chase small furry creatures; and motorcycles and lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners are safe. Otherwise he is very easy on leash.
He is house, crate and leash trained and not destructive. He is an attentive people pleaser who likes to be nearby and has a very active tongue when he is happy! Quite a licker! He is not “a bull in a china shop” despite his size and is very gentle with the kids. He is heartworm positive and not symptomatic, as always ABR will discuss the options and assist with treatment. He currently has a soft tissue injury on one leg, probably from being hit by a car, but that is healing and he is otherwise healthy. Luke is a handsome well trained Boxer who could slide into most homes pretty easily.
