Ladies and gentlemen, meet Fig, or Figgy. She is a character you won’t forget. At 10 or 11 she is a Silverheart. She is healthy for her age and has a pretty fawn coat with a touch of white. Miss Fig is a talker and will happily tell you all about it; she is not fond of hardwood floors and appreciates carpet runners or throw rugs, thank you. She likes to snuggle on her foster mom’s feet, and when they are not available Fig just gathers up her shoes and gives them kisses. She does not hurt the feet or the shoes of course. She likes to turn things over, like toy bins and trash cans, just to see what’s in there.

Fig was in a terrible state when she got to ABR and her foster home. Emaciated, not spayed, had kennel cough, her coat was rough and dirty and she had a lump on her neck. You would never know that now if we hadn’t told you. She is in great shape now, no more lump, no more pups, no more cough and her coat is beautiful like her spirit.

She gets along with other dogs once she grumbled a bit, and she loves kids. She lives with a 6 year old and was the star of kindergarten party. Fig likes a soft bed and carefully sniffs treats to assure they meet her standards before accepting them. She is house, crate and leash trained of course. She’s a small lady at about 45 pounds, but her spirit and personality will light up your life and keep you smiling.
