Canelo is a 2 year old male with a fawn coat, lots of flash, floppy ears and a docked tail. He has lived with his family from puppyhood, but a couple things have changed for him. His people reached out to ABR to help him find a new family as they moved from a home with a yard to an apartment without one, and into a busy schedule with teen sports activities, so poor Canelo doesn’t have the attention and activity a 2 year old needs. He was also attacked by 2 other dogs when he was younger and now he is fearful of other dogs.
He’s generally a happy, loving Boxer youngster who likes doing whatever his people are doing. He is house and crate trained and heartworm negative. Canelo is good with kids and has all the positive characteristics of an inquisitive, loyal Boxer boy. He’s a smart boy who knows to tap his person with his nose to get attention, and tap his food when he’s hungry.
This little guy just needs a fresh start. His family loves him enough to ask for help when they know he needs it. We know he’s good with kids, not so much with other dogs, and we do not know how he relates to cats. But then, not much of that will matter when he’s asleep in your lap.
