This big, handsome, sweet guy just melts my heart; pretty sure he’ll melt yours too. He’s about 60 pounds, 2 years old, white with one blue eye and one brown eye, healthy, and very lucky to land in this special foster home. Bubbles is deaf and had little or no positive, supportive interaction before he got here. His foster family knows all about scared deaf Boxers and he’s responding to their love, attention, direction and correction exceptionally well.

He has learned how to play with his host Boxers and be a good pack member. He loves to fit in and belong; sometimes that’s difficult when he can’t hear the others “talk” to him to correct his behavior. Bubbles is his name, for now, but he probably doesn’t care. He is house, crate and leash trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He has learned to “check in” with his foster parents often, a critical step in learning hand signs so he knows what to do. He’s soaking it up like a sponge now somebody cares about him and helps him stay out of trouble.

Bubbles needs a hearing fur buddy as most deafies do, but he is very dog friendly. He’s been good with the young grandkid, but can’t be placed with children under 12 as they may not understand his limitations and startle him accidentally. He is a special guy who is responding to being a part of a loving, caring family exceptionally well. There is a special bond between a deafie and his or her person, and those of us who are fortunate to have one adopt us will always treasure our special Boxers.
