We were instantly drawn to Little Babs from her photo on the ABR webpage… She just had the sweetest little face! Eric went and met her at the San Antonio adoption event and sent me pictures while I was at work. We definitely agreed she was a favorite but weren’t sure about her young age so we tried to set up a meet with another sweet boxer girl. After finding out she was adopted we decided we should give a meet with Little Babs a shot. With Jeanne’s help we were able to set up a meet and greet and it was pretty much love at first sight. She wiggled and bounced her way not only into our hearts but the hearts of our other two furbabies! She immediately made herself at home and had such a good time rough housing with the boys… It was like she’d always been here. About an hour and a half after we met her we knew we couldn’t let her go. It was meant to be and we felt she was already a member of the family! We’ve had her for two weeks now and it’s amazing how quickly she settled into a routine with us. She is truly the sweetest, most eager to please loving little girl. She has brought so much life and love into our family and loves keeping her fur brothers Deuce and Cyrus on their toes with her spunky, playful attitude. We can’t imagine life without her and it broke our heart to find out that she was rescued just in the nick of time from a kill shelter in Odessa. The thought of what would have happened to her had ABR not been there to rescue her is heartbreaking and makes us all the more convinced she was meant for us. We are so incredibly thankful to ABR and all it’s volunteers for doing the work they do and enabling sweet babies like Babs a second chance at a happy, healthy life full of love. Many thanks to Jim for setting up our home visit, Marissa & Gina for taking time to conduct our home visit, Dane & Annemarie for fostering and giving love to this sweet little girl until she found her furever home with us, Jeanne for facilitating our meets and answering all our questions and Babs(whom our Little Babs was named for) for getting us her previous life info and sharing our story. We truly feel like the luckiest family in the world and can’t wait to shower her with love for the rest of her life!
