Much like her namesake, Rose is a thing of beauty! This 3 year old female with a deep fawn coat was owner surrendered due to divorce along with her boxer mate/brother. He was adopted almost immediately and Rose was bereft without him. She has blossomed in her foster home where she lives with two older male boxers, who she loves. Her foster family calls her “Cozy Rosie” because she is so snuggly and sweet. She has never met a stranger and absolutely loves people! Rose has a great energy level — she is not hyper but enjoys walks and some boxing with her foster brothers.
Rosie’s foster home was without power during Hurricane Harvey and Rosie spent the weekend with a family with two elementary aged kids — she adored them and loved sleeping with them. Her foster mom suspects she lived in a home with children because of how attentive and protective she is around kids. She recently played gently & snuggled with two chihuahuas but is not a good match for a home with cats. She is protective of her home & pack and will alert her family to anyone approaching the house.
This lovely girl is heartworm negative and healthy. She is house trained and crate trained but does not need to be crated — she is perfectly behaved with free reign of the house. Rosie’s only developmental area is that she is somewhat reactive towards other dogs when she is on walks. She does not start problems but she needs her adoptive family to work with her on ignoring dogs who bark at her or fixate on her. This can be easily achieved with consistent positive training, which her foster mom is starting. Rose will bring endless love and joy to her lucky new family!
