This gentle lady went from hard luck to river boat queen. Her companion was adopted but she was left behind in the shelter because her eye looked bad. ABR scooped her up and placed her in a foster home that specializes in medically needy fosters where she received the surgery, care and attention she needed. Lai lai lives with dogs ranging from 2 pounds to 130 pounds, 3 cats and a pot belly pig. Her best friend is a cat. She has recovered from surgery for her eye and is a healthy 57 pounds. She is heartworm positive but not symptomatic and has taken monthly heartworm preventive for over a year. Treatment need not be difficult now and ABR helps the adoptive family.
Lai Lai is a true southern lady, graciously greeting all the people she meets. She needs to hear or see others approach as her peripheral vision is limited now. She does well with more mature dogs who are properly introduced as well as cat friends but doesn’t humor the young pests for long. Of course she is house, crate and leash trained and particularly loves the morning and evening strolls with her foster family and furry friends.
She is a joy as a companion on a leisurely walk and lays quietly nearby as you watch the world pass by from your spot on the patio. She often accompanies her foster family and a fur buddy or two to Austin’s dog friendly eateries. She is a wonderful snuggle bug who offers tiny kisses when invited. She loves attention, pets and brushing and will take a treat very gently. Lai Lai is a terrific companion for someone who understands how to protect her blindside and allow her to meet furry friends at her pace. She loves them all so long as they are respectful, just like a proper lady. So, ask to meet this calm, sweet, gentle lady and perhaps she’ll agree to join your family.
