Although his name is Kapono, we call him Young Kapono in deference to his namesake who was gone far too soon. His name, Kapono, means “the good one, righteous” and so he is. Hawaiian names are not given lightly, without some reflection into the one being honored. Young Kapono is now 10 months old and is house and crate trained and does very well on leash. Yes, he’s a Boxer puppy with spurts of high energy and pure joy with life, and then he naps.

Young Kapono is blessed with a stunning flashy fawn coat with black eye patches, a black nose, and one ear that just doesn’t seem to cooperate. He is heartworm negative and very healthy. He knows sit, shake, lay down and stay and is eager for more. He lives with a couple young skin kids who he eagerly wakes up for school and waits for their return. He also has a 2 year old female Boxer to play with. He loves to play fetch, make noise with his squeaky toys, and fall asleep on the couch, oh, and belly rubs.

Young Kapono is a wonderful mix of high adventure, curiosity and energy with a certain reserve that allows him to fit into the moment. He adores his people and his fur buddy. He’s not a wild Boxer puppy, but he is the good one.
