Chickadee is a lady who’s been around the block and checks to make sure who is in charge, just in case she needs to pick up the slack as usual. She’s about 7 now and a bit thin from her travails, but life hasn’t slowed her down much; at least not much more than anyone else with her experience. She’s gaining the weight back in her foster home, and she’s already checked out her male Boxer host, just in case he’s not up to the task of keeping things in order. So far, so good.

Chickadee is heartworm positive but ABR always helps with treatment and can explain the options. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all. As you might imagine, Chickadee is not a high energy gal now, she’d like to play some, nap some, lay in the sun a bit and get a few pets. She usually sleeps with her stuffed animal toy. She is house and crate trained and does fine with other dogs, especially if they pass the test of “who’s in charge”. Chickadee is not OK with cats and we do not know how she relates to kids.

Chickadee still has lots of walks and play time, naps and sun baths on her dance card. She’d probably be happy to teach a young boy about being in charge, you know, for when she can’t anymore.
