Benny Pointer was named by one of our volunteers to honor a very special Boxer who succumbed to cancer and left a beautiful story about him and his owner. This fellow is 7 to 8 years old and will be 90 to 100 pounds when he fills out again. You would not know this fawn boy’s age by watching him move and play. He loves to run and be with his people. He’s probably too big for a family with kids because he so big and goofy. He is healthy and heartworm negative so he’s ready to run today.
Benny is crate trained, house trained and leash trained. He knows sit, down and stay. He gets along fine with all the dogs he’s met and currently lives with several Boxers from old to puppy. He has not been destructive in the house and follows direction well. Benny thrives with structure. He loves water and will stand under the hose on a hot day. This guy would actually do OK in an apartment with an active person or couple, or with a fur buddy or two, so long as there are clear, consistent boundaries.
The photos of Benny and his best friend Lainey tell the whole story. These 2 need a home and family together.
Benny Pointer was named by Deborah in loving memory of John Pointer’s beloved Benny.
